The NSW Chapter, based in Sydney services members in Sydney and NSW.
Our members are drawn from a cross-spectrum of organisations, including the corporate, consulting, government and not-for-profit sectors. Our overriding commitment is to contribute to the success of our organisations through effective communication practice.
The NSW Chapter comprises a volunteer board, which maintains and develops the membership, professional development and social aspects of the chapter. As President I lead, provide direction and ensure that the board provides the best possible value for our members.
2011 has seen the Chapter initiate several key member benefits including a redesigned and more functional website, a number of high-quality professional development and networking events and introduction of professional development recognition for employers.
In August the IABC Australian Chapters partnered with Ogilvy PR to conduct research into communication trends over the next 10 years. the Chapter also hosted international speaker Shel Holtz for a one-day conference about the communications function in the digital era.
2011 has also seen the Chapter maintain a significantly high retention rate of 81%, recruit new members (top 15 Chapters worldwide) and attract and retain new Corporate members in addition to garnering sponsorship support for the Chapter and events.
